Gasmet Technologies has secured third place at the Future Forces Innovation Awards 2026 in Prague for its GT5000 Terra portable FTIR gas analyser.

The award recognises technological developments presented at the Future Forces Exhibition & Forum, an international event bringing together professionals from the defence, security and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) sectors.

Innovation recognised by independent jury

The 2026 competition received 19 product entries, which were evaluated by an independent panel comprising experts from industry, research and professional practice.

Chaired by Major General Ostřížek, the jury assessed submissions against three criteria.

Innovation and originality accounted for 50% of the overall assessment, followed by practical benefits and applicability at 30%, and technical maturity and deployment readiness at 20%.

Portable gas analysis for operational environments

The GT5000 Terra is designed to provide Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) gas analysis capabilities in field environments.

According to Gasmet Technologies, the portable instrument can measure up to 50 gases simultaneously in real time, while also identifying unknown gases using the same measurement data.

The analyser provides access to a reference library containing more than 5,000 compounds, supporting the identification and assessment of potentially hazardous substances.

Applications across defence and emergency response

The GT5000 Terra is intended for applications including CBRNE response, defence operations, hazardous incident assessment and industrial safety.

Its portable design enables gas analysis to be conducted outside laboratory environments, supporting personnel who require information about atmospheric hazards during operational deployments.

Industry engagement at Future Forces

Gasmet Technologies also exhibited at the Future Forces Exhibition & Forum, where its representatives discussed gas detection and analysis requirements with defence and security professionals.

The company reported significant interest in its technology throughout the exhibition.

The award recognises the GT5000 Terra’s development as a portable gas analysis solution for operational environments where identifying hazardous gases is an important safety requirement.

Darren Wyllie, Interim Managing Director at Gasmet Technologies, said: “We are proud to see GT5000 Terra recognised at Future Forces by an independent panel of experts.

“Innovation has always been at the core of what we do. This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams and our commitment to developing solutions that help professionals identify and quantify unknown gases rapidly and accurately in the field.”

Anna Leino, Product Manager at Gasmet Technologies, said: “What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that the evaluation considered innovation together with practical benefits and deployment readiness.

“Our goal has always been to provide users with truly field ready solutions that provide lab-quality sensitivity and selectivity.

“The discussions we had throughout the event confirmed the importance of real-time analysis of chemical threats and the need for solutions that can deliver actionable results directly in the field.”
