Crowcon’s DetectiveIQ has been named a winner in the 2026 Occupational Health & Safety New Product of the Year Awards.

The gas detection system received the award in the Industrial Hygiene: Gas Monitors & Instrumentation category.

Now in its 16th year, the Occupational Health & Safety New Product of the Year programme recognises product development by health and safety manufacturers, with a focus on solutions designed to improve workplace safety.

IQ range receives further awards

The award follows other industry recognition for Crowcon’s gas detection technology. Earlier in 2026, DuoIQ received a Red Dot Award for Product Design, while Crowcon’s wider IQ portfolio has also received recognition from IOSH and the Energy Industries Council.

Gas monitoring for changing environments

DetectiveIQ is designed for temporary, mobile and rapidly changing working environments, combining area monitoring with extended battery life and connected safety capabilities.

The system can monitor up to seven gases simultaneously. Long range mesh networking allows multiple monitors to be connected across a site, providing increased visibility of developing gas hazards.

DetectiveIQ provides more than 101 days of operation from an eight hour charge and incorporates an integrated pump for remote sampling at distances of up to 30 metres.

The system also has an IP66 and IP68 rated design for use in demanding industrial environments.

Crowcon expands connected gas detection

DetectiveIQ forms part of Crowcon’s wider IQ range, which also includes UnoIQ and DuoIQ portable gas detectors, IQhub and Crowcon Connect.

The portfolio has been developed to support the use, servicing and management of gas detection equipment across industrial working environments.

Vikesh Patel, Senior Project Manager at Crowcon, said: “DetectiveIQ was developed by spending a lot of time understanding how area monitors are actually used in the field and where we could make that experience better.

“Area monitoring is often needed in environments that change quickly, so connectivity, battery life and ease of deployment were all really important to us.

“The mesh network allows devices to work together and gives teams a clearer picture of gas risk across a site, while the extended battery life means less intervention once equipment is deployed.”

“We have been very fortunate to receive a number of awards and shortlists across the IQ range recently, and we certainly don’t take that recognition for granted.

“It is particularly rewarding to see DetectiveIQ recognised by OH&S, because ultimately the purpose behind the development is to give people better tools to help keep themselves and others safe at work.”
