TSI Incorporated has introduced the OmniWear Noise Dosimeter, a lightweight bodily worn exposure monitor designed to help health and safety professionals assess workplace noise exposure with precision.
Weighing 36g, the device measures all workplace noise parameters simultaneously while providing an unobtrusive monitoring solution.
Supporting workplace hearing protection
According to the World Health Organization, occupational noise exposure contributes to approximately 16% of hearing loss globally.
TSI said wearable dosimeters remain essential for understanding employee exposure levels and analysing dynamic noise exposure throughout the working day.
The OmniWear Noise Dosimeter features one button operation and an IP65 all weather rating, enabling rapid deployment across multiple workplace environments.
The company designed the device for ease of use, allowing operators with limited experience of noise dosimetry to capture and report data efficiently.
Real time monitoring and reporting
The dosimeter offers a maximum 16 hour run time, supporting full shift exposure measurements. It can also be used for task specific assessments to identify high noise areas or employees who may require hearing protection support.
As workplace exposure limits are based on an eight hour average, the dosimeter automatically calculates and displays this data through a companion mobile application.
Available on Apple and Android devices, the app can monitor and control up to 20 devices simultaneously via Bluetooth.
Real time monitoring and post run reporting help employers identify periods of excessive exposure and take corrective action.
Designed for simple field operation
Ketan Mehta, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, said: “The OmniWear Noise Dosimeter supports health and safety practitioners new to noise dosimetry by combining intuitive use with accurate noise measurement.
“The light and robust design helps minimise body burden for the wearer. When used in conjunction with our control and monitoring app, the dosimeter enables you to capture the important noise data you need.”
