Offsite timber frame manufacturer Donaldson Timber Systems (DTS) has received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Order of Distinction after achieving its 16th consecutive Gold Award.

The Order of Distinction recognises organisations that have demonstrated the highest levels of workplace health and safety consistently for 16 consecutive years.

RoSPA Awards recognise safety excellence

Now in their 69th year, the RoSPA Awards are described as the world’s largest health and safety awards programme, recognising organisations and individuals that have achieved high standards in accident prevention.

Each entrant is assessed against rigorous criteria. DTS is among a small number of industry organisations to achieve the Order of Distinction.

Sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) the RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest running programme of its kind in the UK and attracts entries from organisations around the world.

Quality approvals support operations

Alongside its health and safety credentials, Donaldson Timber Systems has achieved several third party quality approvals, including BOPAS Plus, BBA, NHBC Accepts and STA Gold Assure.

These approvals provide assurance that its products are durable and comply with relevant building regulations and technical standards.

Donaldson marks 50 years

Donaldson Timber Systems is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

The company specialises in offsite construction and operates through a network of manufacturing and technical centres across the UK.

David Nimmo, Construction Director at Donaldson Timber Systems, said: “Achieving 16 Gold Awards in a row is an outstanding achievement, which demonstrates our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in health and safety.

“We’re honoured to be in the small number of industry leaders to achieve the Order of Distinction from such a prestigious organisation as RoSPA.

“As the leading manufacturer of timber frame across the UK, health and safety is fundamental to the success of our business. These awards are a recognition of the hard work and commitment our people put into looking out for each other, our supply chain and our customers. This is truly an award for every member of the team for their continued work in keeping us all safe.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, said: “Donaldson Timber Systems should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people
safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace.

“RoSPA regards Donaldson Timber Systems as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful
organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.”
