SHOWA has launched ChemRest CC700, a new addition to its ChemRest range that addresses one of the longest-standing challenges in industrial safety: how to provide reliable chemical resistance and high-level cut protection without compromising dexterity.
Across industries such as mining, chemicals, oil and gas, and heavy construction, workers are routinely exposed to both sharp materials and hazardous liquids. Historically, employers have had to choose between thick chemical-resistant gloves that reduce mobility, or lighter cut-resistant options that offer insufficient barrier protection. CC700 has been engineered to resolve this compromise.
The glove is built on an 18-gauge seamless HPPE knit liner, offering a close fit and exceptional flexibility. Over this, SHOWA has applied a double-dipped nitrile coating, finished with a rough-textured palm to improve grip in oily or wet conditions. This combination ensures durability, comfort, and control while reducing the fatigue typically associated with chemical protective gloves.
ChemRest CC700 meets EN 388:2016 cut protection at Level E (ANSI A5) and EN 374-1:2016 Type A chemical resistance, making it a true dual-protection solution for modern environments. An orange indicator yarn within the liner also enhances safety by making wear or damage easier to detect.
“Employers have long faced the dilemma of protecting their teams against both chemical and cut hazards without forcing them to compromise on performance,” said Tony Lynch, Vice President EMEA & USA, SHOWA.
“ChemRest CC700 is the first glove in its class to deliver robust protection on both fronts while maintaining the dexterity needed for precise tasks. It not only improves safety but also simplifies PPE selection and inventory management for our customers.”
By reducing the need for multiple glove types on site, CC700 streamlines PPE training and ensures workers are less likely to make the wrong choice under pressure. Available in sizes ranging from S to XXL, it has been designed with workforce diversity in mind and is tailored for applications in mineral handling, chemical treatment, painting, spray workshops, and drilling.
The launch of CC700 builds on SHOWA’s reputation for innovation in hand protection and its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of high-risk industries. By uniting advanced cut-resistant yarns with proven chemical barrier technologies,
