Ideagen Acquires Reactec to Enhance Safety

Ideagen, a global leader in compliance, risk and environmental health and safety (EHS) software, has further elevated its safety offerings by acquiring Reactec, an Edinburgh‑based innovator in wearable technology and data analytics for workplace hazard monitoring

Reactec, originally a University of Edinburgh spin‑out, has made its name designing wearable tech—such as the R‑Link smart watch—and cloud‑based analytics solutions aimed at reducing hazardous exposures to vibration, dust and noise in industries including mining, transport, aviation and construction.

Their monitoring tools enable businesses to adopt a proactive approach to occupational health, furnishing real‑time insights that help manage risks before they escalate.

For Ideagen, integrating these capabilities into its existing software portfolio marks a significant strategic milestone. The acquisition deepens their foothold in high‑risk industries such as mining, construction and manufacturing—areas where safety and compliance are mission critical.

As Ben Dorks, Ideagen’s CEO, emphasised, “Reactec’s wearable technology and data analytics are a perfect complement to our portfolio, putting cutting‑edge tools directly into the hands of those who need it most.”

Reactec’s CEO Jacqui McLaughlin added that the deal both broadens Reactec’s reach and “enables organisations to enhance health and wellbeing, helping prevent—not just mitigate—risk.”

The scale of this acquisition is notable: it represents Ideagen’s sixth takeover this year alone. Earlier in 2025, the company also added WorkSafe Guardian, ConvergePoint, SafeFood 360, Authenticate and more to its growing suite of EHS and compliance tools.

Reactec’s growth trajectory has been fuelled by early-stage backers like the Scottish Archangel Investors. They helped transition the company from a specialist in hand-arm vibration monitoring to a comprehensive health and safety platform—making its contributions to injury prevention even more far-reaching.

With over 16,000 customers globally—from mining giants and aviation groups to pharmaceutical leaders and major healthcare institutions—Ideagen is now better positioned than ever to deliver data‑driven safety solutions at scale.

By bringing Reactec into the fold, Ideagen reinforces its position as a leading force in workplace safety innovation and operational excellence.
