Vismo has integrated its mass notification platform with Microsoft Teams, allowing organisations to send critical alerts directly to staff through the widely used communication tool.
The move responds to tightening regulations on SMS messaging, which have made traditional text-based alerts harder to deliver reliably.
The new setup enables organisations to issue warnings about potential risks and view employee locations within the Teams interface. It works across desktop and mobile devices and supports staff working in offices, at home or in remote locations.
Vismo said the integration helps employers meet their duty of care obligations by offering faster and more secure communication routes.
The system draws on intelligence data feeds that monitor real-time global events which may pose threats to employee safety, allowing employers to create geo-fences and target alerts where needed.
Colin Dale, Vismo’s Director of Global Sales, said seamless communication during crises is vital and that restrictions on SMS underline the need for alternative channels.
He added that linking the Notify system with Teams gives employers blanket coverage without requiring users to switch between apps.
The company, which operates from York and maintains an office in New Jersey, currently provides tracking services to more than 450,000 people.
Dale said the new functionality allows employees to stay within familiar tools while still receiving time-critical alerts at no additional cost.
