SpatialCortex, a UK-based innovator in health and safety technology, has been named a finalist in the 2025 National Safety Council (NSC) Safety Innovation Challenge for its groundbreaking work in musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) prevention.
The recognition places SpatialCortex among the leading global companies working to address one of the workplace’s most persistent and costly safety issues. The company’s wearable MOVA sensor system offers real-time ergonomic risk assessment without the need for manual observation or intrusive camera systems—allowing for objective, data-driven analysis of posture, motion and physical stress.
The NSC, based in the United States, is one of the most influential organisations in the field of occupational safety. Its MSD Solutions Lab initiative is focused on eliminating work-related musculoskeletal disorders, which remain one of the leading causes of workplace injury and long-term health issues across multiple sectors.
SpatialCortex’s MOVA platform was recognised for its potential to reduce exposure to common MSD risk factors such as forceful exertion, awkward postures and repetitive movements. The company’s technology enables accurate analysis in real working environments, helping employers make informed decisions to protect staff and improve well-being.
Kailash Manohara Selvan, Founder and CEO of SpatialCortex, welcomed the announcement. He said the firm would be presenting both its core MOVA system for manual handling assessments and its newly developed MOVA SEAT solution, which focuses on desk-based ergonomics. Both aim to eliminate guesswork in ergonomic evaluation and enhance workplace safety strategies through clear, actionable insights.
The NSC Safety Congress & Expo Finals will be held in Denver, Colorado, from 15 to 17 September 2025. SpatialCortex will exhibit its technology at the Safety Technology Pavilion, where finalists will showcase their innovations to industry leaders, safety professionals and researchers from across the globe.
For SpatialCortex, being named a finalist serves as further validation of its mission to modernise workplace safety through intelligent design and real-world applic
