The National Safety Council (NSC), in partnership with Boeing, has awarded 75 recipients the 2026 Advanced Safety Certificate (ASC) Scholarship for Veterans, helping US military veterans pursue careers in environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Created to strengthen and diversify the pipeline of skilled professionals entering the EHS sector, the programme supports veterans by covering the full cost of earning the nationally recognised Advanced Safety Certificate while providing valuable networking and career development opportunities.
Boeing extends support through 2029
The scholarship programme has been expanded with funding secured through 2029, increasing the number of annual awards from 50 to 75.
Boeing’s continued investment builds on the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting veterans both within its workforce and through wider community partnerships.
The initiative aims to help veterans develop specialist EHS expertise while contributing to safer workplaces across a range of industries.
What the scholarship includes
Recipients of the 2026 ASC Scholarship for Veterans will receive free enrolment in the Advanced Safety Certificate programme, along with registration and travel accommodation to attend the 2026 NSC Safety Congress & Expo in Indianapolis.
The event provides opportunities to network with safety professionals from across the industry while learning about emerging environmental, health and safety topics.
Scholarship recipients will also gain access to career development resources and professional networking opportunities after completing the programme.
Building the next generation of safety professionals
The nationally recognised Advanced Safety Certificate programme equips aspiring and current safety professionals with practical knowledge of industry best practice and the skills needed to improve workplace safety performance.
For veterans transitioning into civilian careers, the programme provides a strong foundation for building a successful career in environmental, health and safety while making a meaningful contribution to improving workplace health and safety standards.
