The National Safety Council (NSC) has launched SafetyAtlas, an online platform bringing together safety training, credentials, resources and services from NSC, participating chapters and external partners.
The platform combines a training marketplace with learning management capabilities, allowing organisations to purchase, assign and monitor safety training through one system.
Managing workplace safety training
SafetyAtlas is designed for employers, safety professionals, human resources teams and learning and development professionals.
Users can browse training from multiple providers, assign courses to individuals or groups, monitor completion and certificates, maintain training records and produce reports.
The platform also includes learning pathways for higher risk industries and a location based course search intended to help users identify relevant training.
Safety credentials stored online
A Safety Wallet feature allows individuals to store and share their safety credentials and training history. Courses completed through SafetyAtlas are automatically recorded.
NSC said functionality allowing users to upload training records and credentials obtained through other platforms and organisations is also planned.
Further development of SafetyAtlas is expected during the coming year, including additional partners, learning resources and artificial intelligence enabled learning journeys.
Safety organisations join platform
Participating NSC Chapters at launch include the NSC Nebraska Chapter, Oklahoma Safety Council and Northeastern New York Safety and Health Council.
A number of nonprofit and industry organisations are also providing training, resources or credential services through the platform.
These include the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, American Industrial Hygiene Association and Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Training providers ITI, PureEHS, Sunbelt Rentals and trainPOINT are also participating, covering areas including skilled trades, hazard identification, fall protection, equipment operation and workplace safety.
Walgreens will provide access to immunisation services through workplace vaccination clinics and employee voucher programmes.
NSC said SafetyAtlas will continue to expand as further organisations, training options and safety resources are added to the platform.
