Minebea Intec Delivers Precision Upgrade for Cosmetics Manufacturer

Minebea Intec has helped a leading US cosmetics manufacturer overhaul its pre-weigh department, delivering improved accuracy, accountability and efficiency with an integrated weighing and software solution.

The cosmetics company, a global supplier to major brands, turned to Minebea Intec after struggling with manual, paper-based processes that made it difficult to track employees’ actions, confirm correct materials and quantities, and enforce proper use of PPE. Handwritten records proved unreliable, and ensuring the correct scales and recipes were used was challenging.

Minebea Intec provided a tailored solution combining its ProRecipe XT software, Signum bench scales, and Maxxis 5 weight controller. The system automatically logs which employee is working, validates materials via barcode scanners, enforces dual-signature approvals for costly ingredients, and transfers data directly to the manufacturer’s ERP system. It also ensures compliance with safety procedures and records all relevant data for full traceability.

According to Minebea Intec, the results were immediate: the customer gained a clearer view of its operations, reduced errors and waste, improved product quality, and increased profitability.

Minebea Intec said the project reflects its expertise in delivering solutions to industries — such as cosmetics — that demand the same precision and control as pharmaceutical manufacturing. With more than 150 years of experience, the company continues to develop bespoke weighing and control systems for customers around the world.
