Dräger has strengthened its UK and Ireland leadership team with the appointment of Matthew Evans as Head of Government for its safety division, a move that reinforces the company’s long term commitment to supporting public sector and emergency service organisations.
In his new role, Evans will oversee Dräger’s safety technology portfolio across fire, defence and security, police, ambulance services, and the wider public sector. The appointment brings a senior figure with deep organisational knowledge into a more operational leadership position at a time when public sector safety requirements continue to evolve in both scale and complexity.
Evans brings 15 years of experience within Dräger, having built his career across multiple divisions of the business. He began as Product Manager for breathing apparatus before moving through roles within the fire and rescue and defence and security divisions. Most recently, he held a global advisory role, also acting as International Programme Director, where he supported key defence customers and helped strengthen delivery frameworks and strategic partnerships at an international level.
Public Sector Environments
The move marks a clear shift from advisory responsibilities to a more hands on leadership remit within the UK and Ireland. Evans will focus on accelerating execution, strengthening relationships with government customers, and ensuring Dräger continues to deliver consistently across critical public sector environments.

Breadth of Experience

Matthew Evans officially stepped into the role on 1 January 2026.
